Um so hi.
This is awkward.
Because well, it's been a while since I've been in touch. A long while. Almost a year long while.
I have ghosted my own blog. (That's a thing right? What the kids call it?)
To be fair I did this semi-intentionally, to focus on all of the things I last wrote about focusing on. I wrote some other stuff for purely creatively indulgent reasons, and I needed that.
But well, I've missed being here. I've missed documenting life, in its little silly details. I've missed connecting. I've missed sharing. I've missed writing in this way. I've missed it all.
So I thought I'd come back to the blogging world, if anyone is still out there listening (I totally understand if you all gave up on me long ago).
And well a lot has changed in a year. I got preggo again. I went through a whole pregnancy. And on November 17 I welcome a baby boy, Bobby.
So for anyone keeping track that means I have two littles under two. We're a month in and have somehow managed to all survive. It also means that I'm not sure how frequently I will be able to write here (because as a mom of a 1 month old and a 21 month old, I have TONS of me-time, insert hysterical laughing here). But I'd like to try. I'd like to share what it's like to be a mom for the second time, to be able to keep track of all the little moments with Bobby like I've done with Ryland.
For as hectic and crazy as life is these days, I also know after having my first baby, that it goes so damn fast.
And I want to remember all of it, to hold onto each tiny moment. Because despite the sleep deprivation and mountains of diapers, I also have moments each day, usually when I'm holding one baby while another runs in circles around me, where I'm fleetingly aware that this, right now, these times are hard, and sometimes feel impossible, but they're also it, you know, the living, breathing soul of this life, the memories I'll return to most often, and long for, until the end of my days.
hi, nice to see everyone again. I'm happy to be back :)
I'm a thirty-something mom of two, wife, pediatric RN, and writer with a passion for the all the big and little things in life.
